We’ll be assembling warning whistle kits to distribute throughout the community, a simple, proven way to look out for one another. These kits have been effective in cities like Detroit and Chicago, and now it’s time to bring them Downriver.

🚨 MASSIVE NO ICE FACILITY IN OUR COMMUNITY PROTEST 🚨
📍 Romulus City Hall 🗓 Monday, February 23 ⏰ 5:30–7:00 PM
We have learned that DHS (ICE) has reportedly purchased a warehouse on Cogswell Road in Romulus with plans to convert it into an ICE detention facility surrounded by multiple residential subdivisions.
This is our community. This is our home. And we do not want an ICE detention facility here.
A detention center in the middle of neighborhoods impacts families, schools, local businesses, and the fabric of our city. If decisions are being made about our backyard, our voices must be part of that conversation.
This is our opportunity to say it loud - for everyone to hear:
❌ ICE OUT FOR GOOD. ❌ Not in Romulus. ❌ Not in our neighborhoods.
🔥 Bring signs. Bring flags. Bring megaphones. This is our chance to make sure everyone knows exactly how we feel.
🔥 And don’t leave after the protest. The Romulus City Council meeting begins at 7:30 PM, and we need to PACK THE ROOM. Show our elected officials that this community is paying attention and expects transparency and accountability.
Come stand up for our community. Bring a friend. Bring your voice. Let’s make it clear: Romulus will not be silent.
